Update on Kathy's Status & Prayer Team

Hello Everyone!

We have had a wonderful start at standing in the gap for Kathy this week.  So many people have responded to the call to pray for her. I know she and her family are so thankful for all of you.

Kathy has been experiencing some back pain and nausea.  They suspect the nausea is from the medication. Please keep her in your prayers concerning these matters as well.

Further, she thought the MRI of the brain was scheduled for today.  In fact, it is scheduled for next Monday.  I believe the Mammogram is still scheduled for this Wednesday.  The brain MRI is being done at Kathy's request just to cover all the bases.  It is a four hour procedure and I suspect that it is not a very comfortable experience.  Please keep her in your prayers as she goes through these procedures.

I pray that God is with the doctors and healthcare professionals that work with Kathy every step of the way, and that their findings are accurate AND that they show she is getting better already!!

Below is a list of those who are fasting and praying on specific days.  If I have missed anyone or if you would like to be included on the list, please let me know.  I know that all of us are praying for Kathy and many of us are fasting as well.  This list is for Katy's benefit to let her know who is covering her in prayer for the day.  Our goal for a commitment of 42 days of fasting and praying for Kathy was met and still more are committing to join in every day.  So So Awesome!!  Below is an excerpt of an email Kathy sent me just a few days ago.

"Yes, I think God's plan is much bigger than any of us know.  I believe we were brought here by Him and each one of the wonderful people He has placed in our path for a reason.  He has surrounded us with the strongest for this battle but I also feel its not just about me but about something else within His time will be revealed; maybe it is to bring people closer to Him through prayer or bring those back who have drifted, who knows: But we are all just part of His bigger plan.  I am so thankful for all of His warriors, they give me so much strength."

Hi Sweet Friend!

How are you feeling today?  I have been thinking about you and praying for you non-stop. Today, I was among several that fasted for you.  I was reading a bible study by Jack Hayford talking about fasting. He said that in the bible, fasting was used on several occasions for urgent need. I honestly believe that God is working through many people on many different levels to urgently deliver you from this disease and heal you completely.  The PET Scan, the quick entry into the MD Anderson system, the immediate availability of doctors, your incredible team of doctors and associates through SE Memorial, and now, the call to fast and pray and so many people answering that call. What an amazing love from an amazing God. Nothing is too hard for God, not even this, yet He calls out an "army" of family, friends, and doctors and healthcare professionals to go to work immediately and with urgency for your healing.  Even more amazing is how so many stopped and listened and obeyed.   How often in our day to day lives do we hear that "still small voice" and never even lift our heads much less bow them in acknowledgment that God thinks enough of us to speak to us. It's so easy to forget that He not only thinks of us from time to time, but He loves us so much that He sent His only son to die in our place and then He sent his Holy Spirit so we would never be alone. He loves you so very much Kathy. I know that throughout the bible, God has many names. But for you, at this moment, I see Him as a Father,  hovering over His child, calling His people to fast and pray and minister and nurse His precious daughter back to complete health.  He doesn't need us to do that.  He could wave His hand and this would be done. But just maybe you would never realize just how much you are loved and cared for by everyone around you here and by friends and family all over the world. And... just maybe He is reminding us all to listen to that still, small voice, to get on our knees a little more often, that there is power in prayer, and most importantly, that the greatest of all gifts is love.  I love you my sweet friend. I am thanking God now for your healing and looking forward to your great victory.

Kathy's Hope - 42 days of prayer for healing

Today is the first day of our 42 days of prayer and fasting for Kathy! I'm overwhelmed by the love and concern so many people have shown in their commitment to dedicate a day of prayer for our precious friend. I pray that she has an awesome day tomorrow and that she feels the arms of God wrapped around her and the peace of His presence as her healing begins.

I talked with Kathy today and she has endured a rough several days. Due to recent PET Scan results, a biopsy was performed revealing that breast cancer has spread to her bone and to her breast again as well. Today, Kathy received an intravenous bone treatment to strengthen and fill in any gaps cancer may have caused. On Monday, Kathy will have a 4 hour MRI and brain scan to make sure that no cancer has spread that far. On Wednesday, Kathy will have a breast ultrasound and mammogram. She is hoping to get the receptor results this week so they can start her on meds that will shut down the ovaries. She is feeling overwhelmed but thankful for all the prayers. As we lift Kathy before the Father, I pray that she finds perfect peace beyond understanding and that she finds joy in the moment god has given to us. Ultimately, I pray she finds true and complete healing in the name of Jesus.
