Kathy's Hope Update - Little Suckers are SHRINKING!!!

Hello Everyone!

First and foremost, to God be the glory!!! Kathy's test results are in and the BONE TUMORS ARE SHRINKING!! Her counts are down and the doctor is encouraged that the current treatment is working. After a week off from chemo, Kathy started chemo in pill form again on Monday. She will be taking them for the next 14 days and then off for a week before she starts the two week process again. She also had a "bone enhancing" treatment that helps strengthen her bones again this week. She is tolerating the meds better, but the doctor is increasing the dosage a bit. Please continue praying that her body responds to the treatment and that she is pain and nausea free as she goes through this.

Kathy has also caught the cold/flu bug that is being passed around our area. Please pray that she feels better soon.

I am so thankful for the good news this week and looking forward to watching God take over this illness and remove it from her life completely. We serve an awesome God and I have seen so many miracles in my life, and I know that Kathy's healing will be one more. Everyday, He shows us His love and mercy if we just look for it. Today, I see it in Kathy and her ever calm, sweet and steady spirit as she walks through this trial. That alone is such a God thing and I am thankful for such an amazing friend and sister in Christ.

To all the prayer warriors out there, I ask that each of you specifically pray this week for continued shrinking of those "little suckers" in the bone, that the breast cancer is stopped and "shrunk beyond recognition" and that Kathy continues to receive an encouraging word everyday. Remember, an encouraging word is good medicine!

God is with us! Who can stand against us? Thank you Jesus!!!

Love to all

Eventful Week for Kathy & Family

This week, Kathy and her family have experienced a number of alleluia moments and we are thankful for each one. Sometimes in life , it gets to be entirely too easy to expect the negative and pass over the little victories that make life worth stepping out for another day. For the mostnpart, I naturally am always looking for the joy. My husband is constantly reminding me of reality and the negative spin life likes to hide behind at times. But I choose hope, joy, love and encouragement everyday. Zechariah 9:12 says that we should be prisoners of hope. God wants us to be so full of hope, so full of joy and expectancy that we just can help but believe the best.

I pray that we place Zecharia 9:12 on our hearts this week for Kathy and that we cannot help but be prisoners of hope for our friend Kathy.

As we all continue to pray I ask you that we all become prisoners of hope for our sweet friend Kathy,

Love to all

Early Riser Prayer Warriors Needed

Hello Everyone!

Kathy has her MRI for her brain tomorrow morning bright and early at 6:30 a.m.!  Please be in prayer for the wisdom of the doctors, the accuracy of the procedure and most of all, that Kathy can feel the arms of God wrapped around her in perfect peace as she goes through this procedure.

Last week, Kathy had a Mammogram.  Kathy's radiologist will be back in town this week to go over the results.    Praying for accuracy, wisdom and good results.

The oncologist has started treating Kathy immediately.  Some of the medications have been difficult for her body to tolerate causing nausea and fatigue.  However, she is working closely with her doctor to modify the medications and dosage to get the right mix for her body to fight this disease.  Kathy is feeling a little better with the modifications and was able to get out and about on Saturday with Russell.  She is still having pain in her back and hip.  Please continue to pray for her pain to ease and the and the nausea and fatigue to subside.

Kathy is asking that we pray specifically for a good MRI result, energy, attitude and pain relief.  She also said that she is writing down all of the Bible verses that are sent to her.  I am asking everyone to send her the Bible verses and words of encouragement as God impresses them upon your heart. As you know, tests are still being administered and knowledge is still being gained on Kathy's condition. She is still in the dark on the issues she is facing because the doctors are still gathering information.  God's word is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path.  The words He places on your heart could easily be the light that she needs for that day.

LET'S LIGHT UP HER LIFE!!!

Love to all and we will keep you updated.

Friends and Family, we would like to pass on many thank you's and hugs from Kathy for all your many prayers! She has not gotten any information back yet on the mammogram. She has promised to give us the update as soon as she finds out so we can share it with all of you! Keep Kathy and her family in your daily prayers, as we go about living our everyday lives they too must do the same, but with the burden of uncertainty, but our God is so Good!! With our prayers - we can lift Kathy and her family up every day - so our prayer is they don't feel this burden, they feel our love, and Gods Arms holding them strong - and they feel the calm and patience needed. Let's all have patience and pray for everything to be clear! We love you Kathy!

Please be in prayer for Kathy's Mamogram Wednesday

Kathy is scheduled for a mammogram Wednesday. Please be in prayer for the accuracy of the tests and the wisdom of the doctors as they disimenate the information and prepare the best course of action for our sweet friend.

Psalms 18:33 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. In the bible, the hind is a red female deer and appears to be the most correlated of all animals God created. She has a special and unique tracking system connecting her body, her inner self, her instincts, and intellect where she is so coordinated that she can run with abandon, leaping sure-footedly over the rough, rugged terrain and she will not stumble as she races with the wind. Wherever she goes, she knows her tracking system is flawless and she can turn her face to the wind, and race and leap with wild abandon and perfect confidence to the high places where God sets her, to the inner recesses of her high places, and He alone can set her there where no enemy can find her. God built within us a supernatural tracking system so we can run this race with faith, hope and confidence, not cowering in fear that we will stumble or that the enemy will overpower us.

My prayer for you today Kathy is that God makes your feet like the hinds feet and that He sets you upon your high place. I pray that you face your fears today head-on and rely on the fact that God gave you a supernatural tracking device that is within you to find this high place and he gave you the feet to get to this safe place. And once you are there, no enemy can touch you.

These words spoke to me today. I hope they speak to you as well sweet friend. Love you so so much.

Update on Kathy's Status & Prayer Team

Hello Everyone!

We have had a wonderful start at standing in the gap for Kathy this week.  So many people have responded to the call to pray for her. I know she and her family are so thankful for all of you.

Kathy has been experiencing some back pain and nausea.  They suspect the nausea is from the medication. Please keep her in your prayers concerning these matters as well.

Further, she thought the MRI of the brain was scheduled for today.  In fact, it is scheduled for next Monday.  I believe the Mammogram is still scheduled for this Wednesday.  The brain MRI is being done at Kathy's request just to cover all the bases.  It is a four hour procedure and I suspect that it is not a very comfortable experience.  Please keep her in your prayers as she goes through these procedures.

I pray that God is with the doctors and healthcare professionals that work with Kathy every step of the way, and that their findings are accurate AND that they show she is getting better already!!

Below is a list of those who are fasting and praying on specific days.  If I have missed anyone or if you would like to be included on the list, please let me know.  I know that all of us are praying for Kathy and many of us are fasting as well.  This list is for Katy's benefit to let her know who is covering her in prayer for the day.  Our goal for a commitment of 42 days of fasting and praying for Kathy was met and still more are committing to join in every day.  So So Awesome!!  Below is an excerpt of an email Kathy sent me just a few days ago.

"Yes, I think God's plan is much bigger than any of us know.  I believe we were brought here by Him and each one of the wonderful people He has placed in our path for a reason.  He has surrounded us with the strongest for this battle but I also feel its not just about me but about something else within His time will be revealed; maybe it is to bring people closer to Him through prayer or bring those back who have drifted, who knows: But we are all just part of His bigger plan.  I am so thankful for all of His warriors, they give me so much strength."

Hi Sweet Friend!

How are you feeling today?  I have been thinking about you and praying for you non-stop. Today, I was among several that fasted for you.  I was reading a bible study by Jack Hayford talking about fasting. He said that in the bible, fasting was used on several occasions for urgent need. I honestly believe that God is working through many people on many different levels to urgently deliver you from this disease and heal you completely.  The PET Scan, the quick entry into the MD Anderson system, the immediate availability of doctors, your incredible team of doctors and associates through SE Memorial, and now, the call to fast and pray and so many people answering that call. What an amazing love from an amazing God. Nothing is too hard for God, not even this, yet He calls out an "army" of family, friends, and doctors and healthcare professionals to go to work immediately and with urgency for your healing.  Even more amazing is how so many stopped and listened and obeyed.   How often in our day to day lives do we hear that "still small voice" and never even lift our heads much less bow them in acknowledgment that God thinks enough of us to speak to us. It's so easy to forget that He not only thinks of us from time to time, but He loves us so much that He sent His only son to die in our place and then He sent his Holy Spirit so we would never be alone. He loves you so very much Kathy. I know that throughout the bible, God has many names. But for you, at this moment, I see Him as a Father,  hovering over His child, calling His people to fast and pray and minister and nurse His precious daughter back to complete health.  He doesn't need us to do that.  He could wave His hand and this would be done. But just maybe you would never realize just how much you are loved and cared for by everyone around you here and by friends and family all over the world. And... just maybe He is reminding us all to listen to that still, small voice, to get on our knees a little more often, that there is power in prayer, and most importantly, that the greatest of all gifts is love.  I love you my sweet friend. I am thanking God now for your healing and looking forward to your great victory.

Kathy's Hope - 42 days of prayer for healing

Today is the first day of our 42 days of prayer and fasting for Kathy! I'm overwhelmed by the love and concern so many people have shown in their commitment to dedicate a day of prayer for our precious friend. I pray that she has an awesome day tomorrow and that she feels the arms of God wrapped around her and the peace of His presence as her healing begins.

I talked with Kathy today and she has endured a rough several days. Due to recent PET Scan results, a biopsy was performed revealing that breast cancer has spread to her bone and to her breast again as well. Today, Kathy received an intravenous bone treatment to strengthen and fill in any gaps cancer may have caused. On Monday, Kathy will have a 4 hour MRI and brain scan to make sure that no cancer has spread that far. On Wednesday, Kathy will have a breast ultrasound and mammogram. She is hoping to get the receptor results this week so they can start her on meds that will shut down the ovaries. She is feeling overwhelmed but thankful for all the prayers. As we lift Kathy before the Father, I pray that she finds perfect peace beyond understanding and that she finds joy in the moment god has given to us. Ultimately, I pray she finds true and complete healing in the name of Jesus.
